Not good news. Over the night Mason had a really hard time breathing and this morning they suctioned blood out of his lungs. Pulmonary hemorrhaging is what they are thinking and chest X-ray either shows blood or infection in the lungs. He had to go on the jet ventilator and have a platelet transfusion. White blood cells are up slightly. Still waiting for Crp score. They are going to do an echo of his heart to look for pulmonary hypertension and if that is present then they will put him on some medicine that will help with that. His body is still incredibly swollen and his dr today said we have got to figure out the underlying cause of all of this and that he is certainly much sicker then she would anticipate one week after surgery. They are getting infectious disease back in the picture. Please pray. I am so ready for Mason to be better and be healed. I hope everything will get figured out soon.
Praying for your family! Our little guy spent over 4 months in the NICU and i remember all those ups and downs so well. Sometimes it seems so never ending, but hang in there. Take it one moment at a time (literally, sometimes we were going from one minute to the next). Our son had a pulmonary hemorrhage as well. Prayers for the doctors that they will find out what is wrong and be able to get your little guy feeling better.

The lord is with you, your family and your son...Your posts have bought both tears of joy and tears of sadness at times. I want you to know you have a lot of people praying for you right now and your precious son. I continue to pray that the lord gives both you and mason the strength to overcome his sickness.

ReplyDeleteSimply praying.
ReplyDeleteThe England Prayer crew is hard at work praying for your family and Mason. He is a survivor! May the drs. find the underlining cause for all of this. One thing you might want to ask if he is allergic to any of the tubing or lasiks that they are using. Just a thought. Prayers are sent and hopefully the answer will come soon!
