Puppy Love

Everyone always asks how Murphy has taken to Corbin. You see we have 2 dogs-everyone knew George could've cared less about any change--he is laid back. Now, Murphy, on the other hand, has taken some getting used to with the baby in the house. Initially he was very curious and would get up every time Corbin cried or made any noise to check out what was going on. He would also go and check on him while he was napping and would put his big nose in the bassinet. Now he just ignores that crying and sleeps right through it (don' t we wish we all could). I am sure these 2 will be quite the buddies as Corbin gets older.

Nana's hat finally fits

I love to suck on my fingers!

Gangsta

Daytona Beach

The week of July 4th Josh, Corbin, and I made our annual trip down to Daytona Beach. We had a great time being able to be together as a family and it actually was cooler down there then at home! Corbin had a good time enjoying the beach. He loved to dig his toes in the wet sand. We kept him in the shade most of the time under his tent to avoid getting sunburned. It was nice to get away for awhile!

2 months old

I haven't been really good at keeping this updated but I am trying to so that I will remember things later down the road. Last week Corbin turned 2 months old and had the dreaded "shot" visit at the peditrician. He did really well-he did cry and then came home and slept a little bit but didn't run any fever. He was a little fussy but not too bad so that was a blessing! At this time he weighed 11 lbs. 13 oz. and was 22 1/2 in. long-in the 75% for everything.

As far as other things go he is doing better at learning to hold up his head. He really tries so hard and is careful not to turn his head around too quickly so it won't fall forward. He is developing quite a little personality and is smiling so much! The other day when I went in to go get him after his nap he actually wasn't crying! When I spoke to him he turned his head towards my voice and then started smiling! Talk about melting your heart. He is also cooing and making noises like he is having a little conversation with you. He also loves the ceiling fan in our bedroom and will smile at it all the time. It is his new best friend (besides the dog that we keep on his infant carrier). His Daddy is working on teaching him important "signs" like "show me your muscles" (of course a very manly thing), more, and "get (food) in my belly".

He started sleeping through the night at around 8 weeks (we started putting him to bed around 10 with the last feeding beginning at 9 or so) and he would sleep until about 5:30 or 6:00. I know that is still early but hey I will take it. We are working on establishing an earlier bedtime at around 7:30 now so we will see how that goes. Tonight is his first night actually sleeping in his crib--he has been sleeping in our bathroom in the pack and play. I am sure his crib will be a lot more comfortable!
