7 months

I like to help when we read and turn the pages.
Stinky face
Silly boy
I love my jumper!

I haven't had a chance to update since Corbin turned 7 months because of Christmas and everything going on...he continues to learn more and more things and is continuing to grow up. I even took him to the dr. because he was starting to eat less (actually just a shorter time) while I was feeding him to make sure that he was all healed up from his ear infection (which he was) and the dr. told me that he was just growing up and needed to take in more solid foods. We were only feeding 2 solid meals a day so we have now added a third. He is grabbing for more and more things while he sits up and will roll over and over on the floor to get from one place to the next. He is scooting more on his belly and reaches for things and will do a low pitched growl when he can't get something or isn't happy. He continues to smile and laugh all the time and is really doing a lot of vocal play (will make high pitched squeals and the new sound in the video below). He will turn when you call his name or his many nicknames (Corbs or bean-no) and watches his mommy and daddy all the time. He is working on getting his first tooth--it actually started breaking through the gums on Christmas so he is not too thrilled right now and we are all ready for it to break through! He hasn't been too bad though! We sure had a blast watching him take everything in on Christmas and try to figure out how to chew on the paper, um I mean open the gifts!

Corbin's new sound

Here is a new noise that our sweet boy keeps making. It is pretty funny!

Corbin's Snow Angel

His sly look.
He thought it was funny!
The finished product.

We had a fun time with Corbin today in the snow. He got to make his first snow angel...he thought it was hilarious and was laughing and giggling. I think he couldn't feel anything because of his big snowsuit! He had a great Christmas...I will blog about that later but had to post these cute pics!

Seeing Santa

I am SO excited to meet Santa!

Mommy and I while we wait in line.

I had to check him out first.

Smiling for the camera...I wasn't too scared!

Everything is funny to me.

Sticking my tongue out as usual...Santa said my Daddy stuck his tongue out all the time at this age too.

I think Santa thought I was pretty cool.
We took Corbin to see Santa this week. He wasn't scared at all but I am sure that we might have a different story next year. Santa said he was going to take him back to the North Pole and keep him for awhile. I told him that I didn't think that would be such a good idea. He told Corbin he needed a johnny jump up because he liked to bounce on his knee. When I went to get him off of Santa's lap he said that I was going to cause big tears to go down his cheeks. I think he liked him...maybe he will bring Corbin some nice presents this year.

First snow

Here is a picture of Corbin enjoying his first snow out shopping with Mommy. We headed home to get warm shortly after. Corbin hasn't been feeling well and I took him to the dr. today to find out he had an ear infection in his right ear. Poor baby!

We are thankful for...

this little boy.

He has been such a blessing in our lives and we are so thankful that God entrusted us to take care of one of His children. We are also so thankful for our families and their support, our wonderful church family, our friends, and for Stacey & James that take care of Corbin (well, James really just supervises I guess). It has been such a great year and we appreciate all of you!

This Thanksgiving was busy as usual. Corbin got to go visit Mamaw's house for breakfast and play with all of his family there and his future cousin that is on the way. It is hard to believe that next year their will be 2 babies running/sitting around! Then we went to my mom's to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family where Corbin enjoyed his first taste of banana pudding-yum! And finally, we headed to my dad's so that Corbin could see my Nana since she was home from the nursing home for that day. He got quite the attention all day and slept hard last night recovering! We are now all ready and decorated for Christmas! More fun memories to be made!

Corbin and his Grandpa Ken in from Puerto Rico to visit for the month.

All the turkey and dressing tired Corbin out too and he had to take a nap.

In these photos, Corbin is sporting his new head gear that we just received on Wed. (11/24). Josh and I had noticed a flat spot on Corbin's head a little before 4 months and had mentioned it to the dr. who didn't seem too concerned. By the next time we went to the dr. there had been enough change to cause some concern and a referral to the crano-facial clinic. Luckily it isn't too bad and has only affected his ear and forehead but it is fixable. So our little boy will be sporting this Carolina Blue helmet for a little time. He doesn't seem to mind it yet but it makes his Mommy a little sad. Oh well, it is only short term!

Happy 1/2!

Check out what I can do...sit all by myself!

Mommy made me cupcakes to celebrate 6 months together and Ms. Stacey made me this cool outfit!

I was ready to eat the cake...oh well, I will have to wait until I am 1 year for that.

It is hard to believe that Corbin is 6 months already! He weighs 17.2 lbs (45%) and is 26 3/8 inches tall (45%) . He is quite the social butterfly always smiling and laughing at everyone. He has started to babble quite a lot and has said da da together (even though he doesn't know what it means yet). We are so blessed by his sweet, loving and laid back personality. Josh and I swear we will get paid back with the next child! He is starting to push and move a little when he is on his stomach but no crawling yet. All in good time I am sure. We started back to trying solid foods again. We had tried them around 4 months and he just did not seem interested in them so we decided to wait a little bit and he is doing better now. He is much more fascinated by drinks though and will try to grab them out of your hand if you are holding one and him.

Why are you making me eat these carrots? It's a rough job but somebody's got to do it.

Happy Halloween!

We had quite a weekend and I think that we are all still recovering! We went to Charlotte for a wedding and to see Uncle Nick. Corbin was quite the trooper and kept up with the swing of things...then we came back to Greensboro for Corbin's first trunk or treat. Corbin was able to show off some of his new tricks-lots of "heys" and rolling over. He loves to smile at the camera if you will sing to him. He seems to love music and singing. Here are some pictures from the weekend!

Corbin Talking

Thought I would share this. It was taken from my phone so the quality isn't that great but you can still hear him talking away. He has been doing this for quite a bit.

Pumpkin Patch

Josh, Corbin, and I went to the pumpkin patch the other day and we had a great time. We are enjoying all of these fun and new experiences with our boy. He has developed quite the personality and is quite a flirt. He will often smile at people and then hide his head away in our shoulders. He is able to roll over from front to back (even though he has only done it a couple of times) and is working on rolling from back to front. He talks quite a lot and we swear he says "hey" to us. He has had some problems with sleeping through the night here recently and has started waking up some nights at 4:30 which has been weird. We figure maybe he is growing through a growth spurt???? He loves playing in his exersaucer--the other day we put him in and he started jumping. It looked like he was tap dancing! He has become quite fascinated with his daddy's beard and our faces and mouths. He will reach up and grab them and feel them and he often watches intently while we are talking to him. He loves playing peek a boo and laughs all the time! We sure do love him! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Cereal time

Corbin's reaction after his first taste of cereal. The second attempt was a little better.

We decided to try feeding this little boy cereal this morning. He really couldn't decide how he liked it...oh well maybe tomorrow morning will go better. Atleast by the end some of it did get in his mouth.

Ready for fall

Josh took Corbin shopping on his day off and got this outfit. Doesn't he look too cute? Here he is showing off his latest trick-sticking out his tongue at you while he smiles.

Helping my Dad

Now Josh can get a feel of what it felt like to carry Corbin around for 9 months! This boy already loves his dad and enjoys spending time with him. They have already started having "man" time.

Splish Splash

This little boy sure does enjoy his bath time!

Almost 4 Months!

This little boy keeps growing and growing. Josh took him to the pediatrician the other day because we were concerned about a rash on his tummy and we found out that he weighed 14.4 lbs! He has become quite the charmer always smiling at everyone! He is such a happy boy and laughs a lot-especially if you tickle his belly or ribs. He is starting to "talk" more and more and is cooing and sometimes it really seems like he is carrying on a conversation. He is really doing well pushing up on his arms and holding his head, is putting good weight down on his legs, and is trying to sit up. He seems to try really hard--lately his mommy has been trying to teach him to play games with his mouth (or "blow raspberries"). He will just watch me do it and then he will try...it is too funny! Since the last post I have had to go back to work and leave my boy...he seems to be doing great and is always happy to see me! We are having a blast watching him grow!

Smiley Baby

Almost 10 weeks old!
